My Tribal/Aztec Nails Attempt

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Hey guys! I've tried to do tribal nails so many times but they always came out...less than desirable. These are probably the best I've ever done even though they could use some improvement. I used my one of my favorite color combinations besides blue and green. Yellow, blue, and purple!

Colors used were China Glaze 'Solar Power', Zoya 'Perrie', and China Glaze 'For Audrey'. And black and white. These pictures remind me of summer. Have a nice day!

Milani Rad Purple with Flakie Goodness

Saturday, February 4, 2012

I've had this manicure on for so long. I love it. We got 2 coats on Milani 'Rad Purple', which is supposed to be a neon but it more of a red toned purple jelly in my eyes. Hence the tip shrinkage. Then, I layered two coats of Essie 'Shine of the Times' on top and I love the effect. It almost reminds me of a flakie version of Clarins 230. I tried to capture the color shift as much as I could. I was originally going to make a jelly sandwich out of the flakies and this polish, but the Milani dulled the flakes a lot and ruined the sparkly goodness.
The way the polish sometimes looks like a purpley-orange and then flashes that strong green is gorgeous. One of my favorite manicures in a while.

More Frankens!

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Hey! Here's another franken for you. Okay, so in the picture below, there are two different colors. The one on the right is what I first made, but I felt like there was a color in my mind that Sally Hansen made that was identical. I think I'm wrong. But the first swatch is the final product. A slivery purple. With gold and tons of holo glitter! These pictures don't even begin to show how crazy this polish is.

And there on the right is the light blue franken that I posted yesterday...
Can you see the holo glitter? Not really. But its there. I promise. :P
What should I name it?...

Sky Blue Franken

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Yay for frankens! Its not something terribly original, but I found this DISGUSTING 5 year old white color - or so I think it was supposed to be white - But it was an awful sheer cream. Gross. Old. But I added some colors and I ended up with a blue identical to For Audrey with shimmer. But I have that polish. What I don't have, and I really wanted was a light shimmery sky blue. And this little baby was born. I love it. It has SO much shimmer in real life, tons of silver. You can't even see it all.
More frankens coming in the next few days!fr

Zoya 'Tiffany' Bow and Dots Konadicure

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

I LOVE this manicure. I still have it on. Going on 5 days, and I plan on keeping it for even longer. Thats big for me. And mainly, there's only tip wear!
This is Zoya 'Tiffany' from my 3 Free Promotion picks. Its a pink/orange/peachy/bronze foil with gold flecks. I wasn't sure I'd be crazy about it. I love it. It makes this manicure so much better. Application was a little bit like 'Crystal'. It took a while to dry and probably about 3 coats to even it out but I still love it.

Oh, and this manicure design was inspired by Emerald Sparkled.

Hi guys, today I have a little nail design for you on my nail wheel. Super easy and cute!

I just used a white striper to make the little lines, sorry about the glare. Have a nice day off!

Absolutely Alice by OPI

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

Multiple pictures are required. It. Is. Gorgeous. My mom got this for me for Christmas. Little did she know that it was THE Absolutely Alice. So pretty. She went in search of the blue Burlesque polish but this is all my local salon had. Good enough for me.

Absolutely Alice is a deep blue glitter with gold flecks in it. Application was okay, you can see it isn't perfect. Texture is a little rough, like any other glitter. I've had it on a few days and so far, no chips.

A super close up of the glitter...

I hope everyone had a great holiday, any good polishes that you got?
